Steve has been advocating responsible outdoor lighting for more than 30 years. \nAbout the talk:\nBadly implemented artificial light at night (ALAN) has been flagged up as an environmental pollutant for more than 40 years\, yet little has been done to control it.\nThis socially-accepted pollutant has caused the disappearance of our starry skies\, but this is merely the easily-visible tip of a whole iceberg of harm.\nEvery year\, billions of birds and insects die as a direct consequence of ALAN\, and we now know that it is implicated in several human health conditions. The remedies are known\, are available\, and are simple and cost-effective to implement..…..lets raise awareness and increase the will to implement these remedies.

DESCRIPTION:On the 6th August we will be hosting our ‘Community Build and Information Day’ as part of the Community Garden Project. \nThis will be a joint day with the Avon Valley Shed where we will be constructing the shed kindly donated by Fordingbridge Town Council and building the raised planters from reclaimed wood and pallets (thank you to all those who donated including Elliotts!). \nThis day will also provide an opportunity for local organisations and community members to find out more about the Community Garden project and how to be involved when it is up and running.\nWe will be there from 10:00 until 15:00. \nIf you have any useful tools which can help us construct planters and raised beds then please bring them along! \nIf you have any questions or queries then please email fbridgecommunitygarden@outlook.com
