DESCRIPTION:On the 6th August we will be hosting our ‘Community Build and Information Day’ as part of the Community Garden Project. \nThis will be a joint day with the Avon Valley Shed where we will be constructing the shed kindly donated by Fordingbridge Town Council and building the raised planters from reclaimed wood and pallets (thank you to all those who donated including Elliotts!). \nThis day will also provide an opportunity for local organisations and community members to find out more about the Community Garden project and how to be involved when it is up and running.\nWe will be there from 10:00 until 15:00. \nIf you have any useful tools which can help us construct planters and raised beds then please bring them along! \nIf you have any questions or queries then please email fbridgecommunitygarden@outlook.com

DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: DUE TO A WEATHER WARNING OF HIGH WINDS WE HAVE DECIDED TO MOVE THE TREE PLANTING TO SUNDAY 28TH NOVEMBER 11-2\n\nFordingbridge Greener Living’s next tree planting event is to be held on Saturday 27th November and open to all to attend  \nOur plan is to plant approximately 150 whips (small trees) donated by the Woodland Trust\, to naturalise and fill gaps left after the removal of dead Ash trees within the wooded area along Falconwood. In addition\, we shall also be creating a new wooded area\, as show on the map. This will help blend the tree line between the green space at the rear of Allen Water Drive and Falconwood. The trees being planted are the same native species used successfully at the tiny forest site at Parsonage Park in February/March this year.\nTree species are as follows: Wild Cherry\, Rowan\, Birch\, Hawthorn\, Dogwood\, Hazel.\nWe shall be meeting next to the old railway bridge on Marl Lane\, adjacent to Falconwood (the green space behind Allen Water Drive).\nWe require a few more volunteers to assist with running this event and are keen to have some photographs taken. DESCRIPTION:This talk is being run by Extinction Rebellion and is being organised by Extinction Rebellion Fordingbridge. \nWe are in the midst of an unprecedented climate crisis and ecological breakdown that threatens the continuation of life as we know it: record atmospheric carbon levels\, global temperature rise\, deforestation\, plastic pollution and mass extinction of species. Scientists believe we may have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown. This is an unprecedented global emergency. \nJoin us to hear the latest information on the state of our planet and learn how to become part of a global movement of social transformation for a liveable future. In this public talk by Matt Ward (MSc Ecology) of Extinction Rebellion he will discuss what science tells us about where our planet is heading and offer solutions through the study of social movements. \nCome and learn the facts – it’s free (donations at your discretion) and promises to be an interesting and inspiring evening.
